Rinse with water. The baking soda is a mild abrasive and natural
disinfectant. To be used to clean hard surfaces like stove tops,
counters, porcelain, fiberglass and tile. For tough stains, make a
paste of baking soda and water and let sit on stain for a couple of
hours before wiping up. Tip: A used parmesan cheese shaker makes a good
container to keep your baking soda scouring powder.

2:
Table salt can also be used as a stronger abrasive. Salt can scratch
some delicate surfaces, so care should be taken. This does work well on
glass surfaces, such as burnt on coffee in the bottom of a glass coffee
carafe.
- Recipe
3: For
a non-abrasive solution mix 1/4 cup borax with enough vegetable oil
based liquid soap (like Murphy's Oil Soap) to form a creamy paste. Add
1/2 teaspoon lemon oil and mix well. A small amount of this mixture can
be used to wash the surface with a sponge, then rinsed off.
Shoe /
Athletic Shoe Deodorizer:
Combine 6 tablespoons cornstarch, 3 tablespoons baking soda, 20 drops
Rosemary essential oil, 20 drops Tea Tree essential oil, 5 drops Lemon
essential oil, 5 drops Clove essential oil. Put 1 - 2
tablespoons
in each shoe and rub it in. Allow mixture to sit in shoe overnight,
then shake out.
Shower / Tub
Cleaner:
Full strength white vinegar can be used to clean the all surfaces of
your tub and shower. Tile, grout, faucets, shower heads, shower door
tracks, shower doors, etc can be sprayed with full strength vinegar and
wiped off with a clean cloth or sponge. Surfaces can also be soaked in
the vinegar to remove mineral deposits (including lime and calcium
deposits) by placing a vinegar soaked cloth or paper towel on the
surface then scrubbing with a tooth brush.
Silver
Cleaner:
- Recipe
1 (no scrub):
Place aluminum foil in bottom of sink (shiny side up), cover with about
4 inches of water, sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of salt (or baking

silver is badly tarnished it may take 2 soakings. For smaller pieces
like jewelry, this same procedure can be used in a mixing bowl or other
dish.
- Recipe
2: Use toothpaste as a mild abrasive to clean silver.
Clean with a soft bristled toothbrush, toothpaste, and warm water.
- Recipe
